The Arts
When you come into the office you are likely to see some paintings on the wall. This is due to a patron project supporting Manchester Art Gallery which Torevell & Partners are delighted to be a part of, with the sentiment that it’s better to have historic art hanging in offices than in conservation studies, whilst being able to fund Manchester Art Gallery on their projects in education, conservation and acquisition programs.
This will be the third year we have sponsored the Manchester Art Fair, which is the largest UK Art Fair outside of London. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see a showcase of different genres of art, we hope to see this relationship continue.
Martyn Torevell was a director of The Royal Exchange Theatre until 2022 and was recognised as a Cultural Champion of the North West in 2011 and 2012 for his work with Manchester Art Gallery. He continues to support a number of artistic initiatives in the city.
Education
Torevell & Partners have been operating a graduate entry scheme since 2010. This has been a hugely successful way of introducing the younger generations to a career in Wealth Management. We are proud to say that a number of our graduates have qualified as Chartered Financial Advisers within the business, whilst others are on track to join them.
Emma Holden has been on the judging panel of an annual investment competition for students of Manchester University. Daniel Jones is a trustee of Greater Manchester Youth Federation and has taken on the role of governor at his children’s school.
We have also supported the redevelopment of the library at Z Arts, an inspirational charity helping young children and families in the Hulme area of Manchester. The new library space has been a huge success and we are delighted to provide ongoing support to encourage a new generation of readers.
Greater Manchester Community
Torevell & Partners are corporate sponsors of RHS Bridgewater. The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening charity who aim to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
We are proud to have been one of the first sponsors of the Castlefield Viaduct. This is a National Trust project aiming to convert a historic Victorian railway viaduct into an urban “sky garden”. The project has now moved out of its pilot phase and is looking to become a permanent urban park linking central Manchester to Salford and Trafford.
