Regulatory Position

Torevell & Partners, via its legal entity of Dewhurst Torevell & Co Limited, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) as Independent Financial Advisers. Our FCA Register number is 183210. Where Torevell & Partners advises or offers advice on pensions, life assurance or packaged retail and insurance based investment products (PRIIPs), it will be based upon a selection of products from the whole market.

Our permitted business is advising and arranging investment business, life insurance and pensions (including transfers and opt outs). We are one of relatively few firms authorised to hold client money and client assets and hence fall under the scope of the European directive (“MiFID II”) requiring enhanced reporting. Client Agreement

Our Client Agreement sets out the terms upon which we will conduct business with you. The agreement comprises two parts, a Client Agreement and a Schedule of Services and Remuneration. Copies of these are here:

Taxation

Internet Communications

In order to maintain the security of its systems, protect its staff and detect fraud and other crimes, Torevell & Partners reserves the right to monitor all internet communications, including web and email traffic, into and out of its domains. Monitoring includes checks for, but not limited to; viruses and other malignant code, criminal activity, and use or content which is unauthorised as being in breach of the Group Dignity at Work and Information Security policies.

Compensation – Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Investment business:

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme set up under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 covers your investments. It covers you if we are unable to meet our obligations in relation to your investments. Most types of investment business are covered for 100% of the first £50,000.

Deposits:

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme set up under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 covers cash deposits up to £85,000 per individual, per authorised institution (this is the sterling equivalent of the €100,000 in force in all EEA member states). Most people who make deposits, including individuals and small firms, are covered.

Torevell & Partners is the trading name of Dewhurst Torevell & Co Ltd and is covered by The Financial Ombudsman Service.

Complaints

We are committed to providing the highest levels of service to you. If you have any concerns about the service you are receiving, please let us know immediately so that we can deal with these concerns promptly. We have a complaints procedure in relation to our services which conforms to the FCA’s complaints procedure requirements. If we cannot resolve your complaint for you, you may be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service (“FOS”). FOS is an independent service set up by the UK parliament to resolve disputes between consumers and businesses providing financial services. This service is free to consumers. Copies of our complaints procedures are available, free of charge, on request. We will not levy any charge for complaints made against us.
